|IZFC 2018 Workshop Submissions|
Proposals are being solicited for workshops at the International Zebrafish Conference. Three sets of concurrent workshops are scheduled for the afternoons of June 21 and 22, and the morning of June 23, and will be open to all meeting attendees. In the past, successful workshops have focused on a variety of topics, and can be based on a specific scientific area or on a technical approach applicable to various problems. We particularly encourage proposals for workshops on educational issues. Participants will not be required to submit general meeting abstracts for their workshop presentations.
There is no set format for the workshops. They are viewed as an opportunity to be creative and discuss the topics you find important, in a way you believe will be productive. However, based on past experiences there seem to be some formats that work better than others. In particular, the organizers do not want the workshops to duplicate the oral sessions, so you should not plan your workshop as a series of talks without adequate time for discussion. At the other end of the spectrum, totally free-form discussions do not work well, and having a planned set of questions or topics to guide the discussion is a good idea.
If interested in organizing a workshop, please complete the online proposal form below by Friday, December 15, 2017.
The conference organizers will let applicants know whether their proposals have been approved no later than Monday, January 15, 2017.
